GPIO access and analog input

Hi rapidM2M Community!

Is there any possibility for accessing GPIO without using LED on Base Starter? Furthermore, I want to use an analog input to measure voltage level or input current. Does Base Starter support this feature?

Thanks

Hello @MaFi_mte19

To separate the GPIOs from the LEDs you have to remove R10 to R14 (see Picture below).

It is possible to separate all of the sensors and actuators of the rapidM2M Base Starter form the Interface of the rapidM2M module inserted in the rapidM2M Base Starter. On the back side of the rapidM2M Base Starter you can find a list indicating which jumper resistors have to be removed to separate the individual sensor or actuator form the Interface of the rapidM2M module (see Picture below)

To make it easier to find the jumper resistors they are marked through yellow rectangles and their Designator. In the circuit diagram of the rapidM2M Base Starter you can see in detail which connections can be separated by removing the particular jumper resistors.

I made you a screenshot of the section with the LEDs and marked the corresponding jumper resistors in red (see picture below).

The circuit diagram of the rapidM2M Base Starter can be found here:rapidM2M Base Starter Circuit diagram

Regarding the second part of your question. The GPIOs can only be used to read or output digital Signals. To measure analog signals you have to use an additional ADC.
