Ignore Type Macros

Hello community,

is there a way to bypass the TYPE macros and transfer the pure numerical value in the config channels to the backend and not get the following macros there:

Hello @mklueh,

there is no way to suppress these special states such as NaN (Not a Number). To display -127 you have to switch to the next larger data type (i.e. s16) .

Note, however, that changes within the Data Descriptor may lead to incompatibilities with older versions of the IoT app. New fields should only be added to the end of the data descriptor. For example, you could set the current s8 field “iGSMRssi” to “reserved” and add a new s16 field “iGSMRssiExtended” to the end of the data descriptor.

Hello @MicrotronicsEngineering,

Thanks for the answer.
I know the Tehme with the incompatibility.
Another additional question:
What is meant by “reserved”, is there a special option to reserve a variable inside the dde or is it just a prefix of the variable name?

Kind regards,
Marcel

Hello @mklueh,

what was meant was simply to rename the variable and no longer use it.
